Our kernel sorting room is sparkling new and custom built by our staff. The line includes an airleg, BEST laser sorter, 8 sorting belts with 4 picking stations each, double pass capability, highly sensitive metal detector, accurate scale, carton erector, carton sealer and palletizer. The quality control department is stationed there taking continuous samples with an automatic sampler in order to guarantee that we are packing according to customer expectations. Good Manufacturing and HACCP protocol is taught annually and continually enforced.
Monte Vista Farming has a complete Inshell Packing line. With the growth in popularity of Inshell from our over seas buyers we have geared up to handle and pack not only more pounds but pack consistently high quality product. Our full attention is on crack out percentages, insect levels, moisture, preventing dissimilar varieties and removing loose meats in order to exceed customer expectation.
All almonds leaving Monte Vista Farming have date and lot code information printed on labels to ensure 100% tractability back to the field the almonds were grown in. Full laboratory testing for salmonella, e-coli and aflatoxin is performed on every lot because food safety is a top priority.
